Andrew Dale “Andy” Reed, 24, Andrew Dale “Andy” Reed, 24, of LaPrairie, died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2006 in a work-related accident at United Taconite in Forbes.

Andrew was born on April 15, 1982 in Grand Rapids to Dale and Beth (VanQuekelberg) Reed. He attended schools in Greenway, graduating in 2000. Andy graduated from Itasca Community College in 2002 and from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks in 2005 with an electrical engineering degree. He was currently working for United Taconite of Forbes as an electrical coordinator. Andy was a member of Assemblies of God Church and an active leader of the men’s group. He loved to hunt and fish and play softball. Andy was a family guy, hanging out with his brothers and sister and his loving dog, Clyde. He leaves behind many close friends.

He is survived by his parents, Dale and Beth Reed of LaPrairie; his sister, Sarah Beth Reed of LaPrairie; his brothers, Jeremy Reed of LaPrairie, Micah Reed of LaPrairie, Joel Reed of LaPrairie; his fiancée, Becky Zidarich of LaPrairie; his maternal grandmother, Ellen VanQuekelberg of LaPrairie; his special uncle, Daniel Reed of St. Paul; and numerous other aunts, uncles and cousins.

Services: Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 15, in the Rowe Funeral Home, Grand Rapids. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 16, in the Assemblies of God Church in Grand Rapids. The Rev. Brian McGuire will officiate. Burial services will be held in Itasca-Calvary Cemetery, Grand Rapids.
